Specialist sock retailer Socktopus, with stores in Bristol, Brighton, Cambridge, Chester, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Oxford, and York, is celebrating the sunflower and supporting Beth’s Sunflowers by decorating their shops and windows with paintings created by local schoolchildren.

Socktopus has proudly supported Beth’s Sunflowers since 2024 when the owner, Nick Starsmore, met Andrea and Justine at the Gardeners’ World show at the NEC in Birmingham. Upon hearing Beth’s story, Nick was inspired to help, and within a month, the first sunflower sock range was designed and sent for production.

Socktopus now offers six different sunflower-themed sock designs, including both athletic and trainer socks. These socks can be purchased in-store or through their website www.socktopus.com, with £1 from every pair sold donated to the charity.

Earlier this year, Andrea Childs reached out to primary schools in all the locations where Socktopus has stores, encouraging children to paint sunflowers to decorate the shop windows and interiors. Additionally, Socktopus has been growing their own Beth’s Sunflowers throughout the summer and has set up donation boxes in their stores.
